Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Navigate the New Bypass?

It's one of those things that is easy to say and harder to do...until you've done it a few times!  The old highway 54 is now called Osage Beach Parkway and there are a few more lights between the Highway 42/54 junction and the Grand Glaize Bridge.  The new bypass is great and saves time if you're headed to the west end of Osage Beach.  Here's a link to the new map:  Map of New 54 Bypass .  If you need some help give us call.

How's the Water?

Unfortunately Lake of the Ozarks was caught in an ugly political battle last summer that has put an undeserved blemish on our beautiful body of water.  OUR LAKE IS SAFE!  If someone tells you differently, they are quite simply, uninformed.  I did not hesitate to let my children swim in it last year, nor will I this year.  I tell them, simply "Don't drink the water"....... at our lake or any lake.  A little common sense goes a long way!

Reservations

Can I make my reservations on line?  At this time, we are not equipped for real time, on line reservations.   You are welcome to email your reservation requests, most are answered within 24 hours.  To guarantee your reservation immediately, please call us at 573-365-2634 between the hours of 8:00AM and 8:00PM.

How much deposit is due?   We require a one night deposit on a two night reservation and a 2 night deposit on 3 or more nights.  This deposit is due within one week of making your reservations.   Any reservations made for the following year are due on February 1 of the year in which your reservation falls.  Deposits may be made by credit card, personal check, money order or cash.

What are your cancellation policies?  After deposit is made and you cancel 45 days prior to your arrival date, you will receive your deposit refund, less a $25.00 cancellation fee.  If you cancel within 45 days of your arrival, we will refund your deposit, less the $25.00 cancellation fee, if, the unit is re-rented for the same number of days that you cancelled.  Please call as quickly as possible if you need to cancel your reservations.  This gives us the greatest opportunity to refund your deposit.

Rental Units

When can I check in?  Check in is guaranteed anytime after 4:00PM.  If you arrive early and the unit is available, we will check you in anytime after 12Noon.  Check out time is 10:00AM prompt.

Do I need to bring towels and sheets?  We provide all bed, bath and kitchen linens with the exception of pool towels.  These can be traded as often as needed with our housekeeping department.  We also provide toilet paper, trash liners, hand soap, dishwashing & dishwasher soap.

What else should I bring?  We suggest that you bring beach towels for the pool, folding chairs for the dock or your deck (a picnic table is provided with all units except motels), BBQ utensils if you plan on cooking out and coffee filters for your coffee pot.

What dishes do I need to bring?   Each kitchen has a basic set of tableware, silverware, glassware and pots & pans.   A pitcher and serving/mixing bowls as well as a toaster, coffee pot and salt & pepper are provided.  Blenders and hand mixers do not come with the room.

Do you have BBQ Grills?   Each unit (except motels) has a Weber Kettle BBQ grill on the deck.  These grills use charcoal and lighter fluid.  Please note: Alhonna does not provided charcoal, lighter fluid or BBQ utensils.

Do You have Laundry Facilities?  Yes, located next to our housekeeping department are 2 sets of coin operated washers & dryers.  They are available from 8AM to 10PM each day.   Quarters, laundry soap and dryer sheets are available for purchase at the resort office.

What do I need to do upon check out?  All we ask of our guests is to please remove any trash from the unit and wash and put away your dishes before leaving.  Please report any maintenance problems to the office so we may take care of them immediately.

Do you have phones in your guest rooms?  We no longer have phone service available in the units.

Boat Rental

How much will my gas cost?  Not to be funny, but we get this question a lot!  The answer is....we don't know.  Because of variables like weight in the boat, wind speed, choppiness of the water etc, there is no way we can give an accurate estimate of your gas consumption.   We can tell you that we use premium gas in our rentals and quote our current pump price if you give us a call.

Do you rent skis and tubes?  We rent both.  We do restrict ski rental to just our ski and deck boats.  Tubes may be pulled behind both ski and deck boats as well as triple log pontoons.

Can we take a rental boat out at night?  While we do allow overnight rentals, all wiring has been removed for navigation lights and our insurance does not cover night time usage.  Rental boats may be used from sunrise to sunset only.

How far are you from Party Cove?  Approximately 15 miles by water.  On weekends and holidays, allow a minimum of an hour and a half to get there and up to two and a half hours back.  Traffic can be VERY heavy near the Grand Glaize Bridge and under the Toll Bridge.

What if we are late? All boats are due back at Alhonna NO later than 6:00PM - there are NO exceptions.  Should you bring your rental boat back after 6PM, the charge is $75.00 for each 15 minutes or $5.00 per minute.  These fees will be deducted from your deposit.

How can we pay for our rental boat?  We accept cash, Traveler's Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.  Fees for the deposit ($300 or $500 for a multiple day rental), sales tax and the rental fee will be collected prior to the rental.

Do you allow BBQ grills on the rental boats?  Absolutely not!  Fire and gas do not mix!

Do you rent wave runners or jet skis?  We suggest Glencove Marina for your personal watercraft rentals.

Do you drive the boat or do I?  You get to be captain!  If you wish to charter a boat and captain, please check out the folks below:

   Catfish Guide Service

What type of fish will I catch on Alhonna Docks?  Our docks are bedded with cedar trees and brush to attract bass and crappie.  In addition to these game fish, kids can catch their fill of bluegill and sun perch and for the very patient fisherman, a variety of catfish populate our waters.  More information about the types of fish at Lake of the Ozarks, visit this link:

General Questions

Does Alhonna Resort have a beach?  We do not have a sand beach.  There are a couple of areas where you can wade from the shoreline.  We strongly suggest footwear of some sort as the bottom of the lake is very rocky.  We do have 2 carpeted swim docks.

Do you allow pets?  We do allow up to two pets per unit.  The cost is $9.00 per night (each) and a $25.00 damage deposit (each).  Pets must be leashed and we expect you to clean up the ground after your pet has been walked in any grassy or other public areas.  Please let us know in advance if you plan on bringing your pet with you.
